Joining to-ps image library is free. There are no fees at any stage, no exclusive arrangements and no obligation to keep your image files on the to-ps site. The only exception to the rule will be when images are released on rights managed or rights protected licence you will be required to give an exclusive under taking for the duration of the licence and ensure that it is not used else where as this causes a conflict of interests with your client and the legal implications are immense, so consider carefully your options before loading to the Rights Managed folder. You will be involved with any negotiations for RM & RP licence releases at every step, it is your image, we are just a means for it to be made available.
You are required, upon joining to-ps image library, to submit three sample image files if you are a photographer and one sample image file in the case of graphics and video. These are to be loaded in to your private folder in your account page.
These will be assessed for quality and general ability and when successful your full account will be activated giving access to all the loading options available.
When your first images are included on the library site a public portfolio is generated by the system to enable site visitors to view all your files and giving a brief biography and a link to your personal website allowing clients to contact you direct and independent of the library.

We are intent on creating a diverse library covering all types of content, if it is interesting, different and the file quality is good, then it would qualify for inclusion in the library.

There are two guidelines for content.
Pornography is a simple No.
Gratuitous Violence is a simple No.
Beyond that the World is your oyster as far as content go. Quality of image file will be assessed and the benchmark standard is 300DPI 3MPG Minimum. As one would expect, any incidental fringing, noise aberrations etc will, if not an intentional aspect of the image, be rejected from the library. All images are to be made commercially available and for you and us to be successful, quality has to be assured, it is your reputation as well as ours that is on the line daily.

In addition to the content rule above and the quality assurance, all images will be assessed for content.
Our keystone philosophy is creativity, diversity, originality. However, for any contributions to the library that you want to be commercially successful, it is strongly recommended that the following guidelines are followed..
Strong Concepts
Imagery that can make an emotional connection and has a broad conceptual appeal has the greatest power to make multiple, universal sales.
Key elements that make an image more saleable are:
High conceptual theme - meaning the image could be used to communicate more than one message.
Strong composition and good lighting.
Generic appeal – enabling the image to be used to sell more than one product or service
To help you assess whether an image is commercially viable and help you chose images that convey the idea you intended, in general, an image should have many or all of the features suggested in the following.
Treatment:
The image should have a strong composition with the viewpoint and or angle being appropriate to the content, situation and message.
The point of focus in the image should be appropriate to the subject.
The lighting should be appropriate for and enhance the subject
The cropping should enhance the meaning and message of the image. Avoid awkward cropping such as crops through people or key elements.
Where appropriate, copy or text space can be of benefit; avoid backgrounds that overly 'cluttered' or 'busy' they distract from the main composition.
Content:
The image should be direct and convey a strong concept rather than tell a story - i.e. the image could be used to visually communicate a metaphor such as teamwork, growth, tenderness, tranquillity, responsibility, etc.
The image should not be over-complicated in its design or intended message or conceptual idea and should be a clear piece of visual communication
Gestures and indeed body language should be believable and appropriate to the situation being depicted.
Avoid selecting multiple images from a series that are very similar; each needs to be distinctly different, not different versions of the same shot.
